It all started when I was called up at 4pm by a venue a regularly play at in Melbourne's city. Given very few details and the fact that it was the middle of the busy Commonwealth Games, I turned up in my regular casual clothes and started setting up in the public bar. The manager soon approached me saying, "No, no! You're performing downstairs in the function room tonight." As I began to move my gear down he continued to fill me in, "You'll be performing at the 58th birthday of the prince of Tonga... no pressure, but there will be Commonwealth Games officials from all over the world and even people from the Sydney Olympic Committee". I found this most amusing but a little concerning in the fact that I was so under dressed for the event. Calling home, some smarter attire was soon on the way (thanks to the beautiful Jodi and her brother, Andrew). I should also add, the prince is a keen singer and in the middle of the night, refering to me as his friend, "Simeon", shared the microphone to entertain his guests. Of the four songs he chose to sing he finished acapella on the naughty tune... (yes, I'm going to leave this blank so I don't cause a huge press controversy :)
